    Ward County Historical Society

    Ward County Historical Society boasts a historic village, capturing life in North Dakota from the 1880s until World War II through restored buildings, vehicles and artifacts. Also found on-site is the Samuelson House Museum, which contains a variety of artifacts from the city's early days. Tours of the Samuelson House Museum are available by appointment and the historic village is open mid-May through October and is closed during the winter. These attractions are found on the North Dakota State Fairground property.

    Camp Hancock State Historic Site

    Camp Hancock State Historic Site preserves part of the military installation that was established as Camp Greeley in 1872 and aimed to protect Northern Pacific Railroad workers. The name of the camp was changed to Camp Hancock in 1873 and today features a log headquarters building that acts as a local history museum. Open May through mid-September.

    Old Soo Depot Transportation Museum
    Old Soo Depot Transportation Museum is housed in a restored 1912 Soo Line Depot, a landmark in the city of Minot. Inside are displays about America's transportation history, focusing on the various rail line companies that traversed the country over the last century. The museum is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm.

    The Dakota Territory Air Museum

    Inside the Dakota Territory Air Museum in Minot, visitors will find a number of historic aircrafts, from a 1928 Waco to a 1949 Cessna, as well as several air force jets. Photographs, books, articles and memorabilia are compiled into displays showing how air travel has evolved over the last century. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.

    Minot Railroad Museum

    Minot's Railroad Museum contains more than 100 years of history, detailing a prominent industry that caused the city to boom in the late 1880s. Browse through the displays of photos, artifacts, equipment and memorabilia, and take a ride on the scale-model train. The hours of the Railroad Museum of Minot are Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. The model train runs in Roosevelt Park in the summer months only. Special tours may be arranged by calling 833-7421.
